Homemade sauces have such a depth of flavour and makes food so much more enjoyable to consume. Beginners do not despair if the though of creating an element before even getting to the main event cut those corners its all good.

1cup 200g mayonnaise

pinch salt

1 tsp white wine vinegar

15g burger pickles

1 clove 2g garlic

2 tbsp 22g shallots

3 tbsp 60g tomato ketchup

Method

1. To a medium to large bowl or jug add…

  • Mayonnaise

  • Salt

  • White wine vinegar

  • Pickles and garlic

  • Shallots &

  • Tomato ketchup

2. With a stick blender blitz until the dressing is smooth or to your liking.

NOTE: the dressing is best the next day, this allows the ingredients to permeate.

Thousand Island Dressing is great over salads, paired with seafood but really sings with variations of prawn / shrimp cocktail.

Hi, my name is

Chris

Chris here from Sliver and Bite, I have been creating desserts for 4 years and recently started creating real time cooking tutorials on social media. I have always prided myself on creating authentic food with real ingredients. When learning to cook I found a gap in the market for real time cooking tutorials. I slow the process down so the viewer is able to cook along.
